Hello! I have taught English at South Central since 2012, but I have also taught at many different levels and in many different places in in my teaching career. From Minnesota to Kuwait to Australia, I have taught in middle schools, high schools, and in Adult Basic Education. After I earned my BA in Russian and English from the University of Iowa, I started my world travels by completing a study abroad program in Moscow, Russia. I then returned to Iowa to complete my MAT in English Education which was the beginning of my teaching journey. My interest in literacy activities led me to also complete teaching credentials in both Library Media Studies and in Reading Instruction at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I have been very fortunate to teach while getting to travel the world a bit, but  I am firmly planted in Minnesota with my family now, and I love working with and learning from the amazing variety of students who attend South Central.

I live in St. Peter with my husband, two kids (my son is very proud to have been born in Perth, Australia, and my daughter is equally proud to have been born in Mankato), two cats, and a rescue dog. I spend my time reading, gardening (although I only choose plants that I can’t kill too easily), baking, hiking, and trying not to embarrass my almost-teenaged kids too badly.
