Meet Your Instructor
Pam Schweim, Child Development
Hi, I am Pam Schweim and I have taught in the Child Development Careers Program at SCC for the past 15 years. I love each passing year looking forward to the next and all the interesting students entering my classes. One thing you must understand about me is my passion for young children to succeed in life and to do so by having a “great start!”
I have lived in California, Iowa, Texas, Upper Peninsula of Michigan and now Minnesota. I have taught high school, middle school, tutored elementary students with reading delays as well as being a Director of a Child Care setting for 18 years.
Regardless of where I lived or taught, all children are the same; they all desire to be loved, respected and treated with dignity and above all they want you to listen to what they have to say.
I received my BA in education from Wayne State College. I have been a member of the Board of Directors for Child Care Resource and Referral for Region 9. I created and implemented trainings for in-home providers in the area of curriculum building, but most importantly I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother.
I love to garden, play with my granddaughter, our two dogs, one cat and our noisy parrot.
I am looking forward to meeting you on-line and guiding you towards a “great start” or “continuous success” in the field of child development.
