Amy Magnus, English

Faculty PhotoHi, I’m Dr. Amy Magnus.   I have a Ph.D. in Multi-Cultural American literature from Case Western Reserve University, a Masters in Literature from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelors in English and History from Concordia College, Fargo Moorhead.

I’ve been teaching at South Central College since 2001 and I teach literature, composition, film and humanities classes.   Some of my favorite classes have been Introduction to Film, Murders and Mysteries:  Detective Fiction, and Horror Stories in Literature and Film.      I’m also the advisor for several student groups on campus:   Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Film Club.

Besides teaching, I love singing and am in several bands with my husband.   I also have a four year old that keeps me very busy as well.  I love reading and often read several books at one time.
