Tony Bryson, Philosophy
Tony Bryson is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. He received his B.A. (summa cum laude) from Arizona State University in 2002, his M.A. (summa cum laude) from the University of Iowa in 2005 and is currently completing his dissertation for his Ph.D. at the University of Iowa. He earned a full ride scholarship his last year at Arizona State, a first year fellowship, a four year teaching assistantship, and summer fellowship at the University of Iowa. He was also nominated for a teaching award by the Iowa faculty in 2006. His dissertation, entitled "The View from the Armchair: A Defense of Traditional Philosophy" focuses on issues in meta-philosophy and defends traditional methods of philosophy against naturalism. He hopes to have his dissertation complete in 2008. He has defended his theories in epistemology at several conferences in philosophy. He is currently working on a book with David Alexander which defends their views in moral philosophy. Tony currently resides in Janesville, MN, with his wife Kacy. They both like to read, play cards, explore Minnesota, attend the symphony and theater, work on their house, and take pictures.
