Desire2Learn Sections and Accounts for New Faculty at South Central College

(This applies to faculty teaching credit based courses, adjunct and full time)

As with other technology services, Desire2Learn courses/accounts will not be created until Human Resources processes proper paperwork and faculty are officially hired and have been entered into the MnSCU system. HR typically begins processing newly hired faculty during the month prior to the official start date, unless a dean of instruction asks HR to rush process to allow the newly hired faculty early access to college services . HR is willing to rush the process should a dean initiate it, but still requires the proper paperwork be completed by both the dean and the newly-hired faculty member.

Once processed, HR will issue a MnSCU ID for the newly hired faculty member and enter then into the MnSCU system. After faculty are assigned to course sections in the ISRS system, the appropriate courses and an account will be created in Desire2Learn for the faculty member. Turn around on this process is 24 hours from the time faculty members are associated with their courses in ISRS.
